The trail follows the mighty Danube, weaving through lush green meadows, vineyards, and quaint villages. It’s a mostly flat route with well-maintained bike paths, making it accessible to cyclists of various levels. Vienna: a blend of imperial grandeur with vibrant culture-home to baroque palaces, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, world-class museums, and a legendary music scence. Cozy coffeehouses, lively markets, and hillside wine taverns add local charm to this elegant, artistic city.
The journey leads you through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This stretch is particularly famous for its rolling hills covered in vineyards and orchards. It’s the perfect place to take a break, enjoy local delicacies, and sip on a glass of Grüner Veltliner or Riesling, the valley’s signature wines.
